Moving a Multi-Tasking
Nakamura-Tome WT-300

Relocating heavy, high-precision CNC machinery demands technical proficiency, meticulous logistics, and absolute attention to detail. Multi-tasking turning centres like the Nakamura-Tome WT-300 feature complex multi-axis configurations, internal sub-spindles, and external mist extraction systems that require careful handling during transit.

Alt CNC recently managed a complete turnkey relocation for a client’s Nakamura-Tome WT-300 twin-spindle turning centre, taking full responsibility from initial electrical isolation through to final precision recommissioning at its new facility.

End-to-End Execution: From Site A to Site B

Relocating heavy, high-precision CNC machinery demands technical proficiency, meticulous logistics, and absolute attention to detail. Multi-tasking turning centres like the Nakamura-Tome WT-300 feature complex multi-axis configurations, internal sub-spindles, and external mist extraction systems that require careful handling during transit.

Alt CNC recently managed a complete turnkey relocation for a client’s Nakamura-Tome WT-300 twin-spindle turning centre, taking full responsibility from initial electrical isolation through to final precision recommissioning at its new facility.

  1. Decommissioning & Dismantling - Methodically disconnecting power, hydraulic lines, and coolant filtration tanks. External ancillaries, including CleanMist air filtration units, LNS chip conveyors, and swarf bins, were removed and prepped for safe transport.

  2. Controlled Rigging & Transport Loading - Utilising specialised Versa-Lift heavy-duty forklifts and skate sets to extract the multi-tonne turning centre from the original workshop and secure it onto curtain-side transport.

  3. Site Transport & Delivery - Safely hauling the asset, tooling, and peripheral components to the destination site.

  4. Offloading & Precision Recommissioning - Positioning the Nakamura-Tome WT-300 in its new cell layout, reassembling ancillary systems, levelling the bed, and conducting DTI geometric alignment to restore exact machining tolerances.

Restoring Precision Without Compromise

By managing every stage of the move in-house, Alt CNC ensured that the Nakamura-Tome WT-300 transition was executed smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Once powered up at the new site, the machine was thoroughly tested, re-aligned, and handed back to the client fully ready for active production.
